Michele Tsai: 2010 Outstanding Arts & Sciences Graduate

Michele S. Tsai, born with a congenital heart defect, aims to make a career out of helping children with chronic medical conditions. Getting a dual degree in psychology and in philosophy-neuroscience-psychology, she has been chosen by the Record as an Outstanding Graduate in the College of Arts & Sciences. FULL STORY

Washington People: Danielle Bristow

As an undergraduate pre-med student, Danielle Bristow (right) worked as a tour guide for the University of the Pacific, welcoming prospective students and their families to her campus. Picture this: Flight day takes off

More than 150 St. Louis-area high school students gathered May 7 in the Field House to launch custom-built aluminum gliders as part of the Boeing Engineering Challenge Final Flight. The event — the culmination of a series of technical meetings, design reviews and prototype development activities — was a partnership between Boeing and WUSTL designed to get students excited about engineering. Overweight children risk serious adult diseases

Being overweight can touch so many aspects of a child’s life. Schoolwork can suffer and social lives can be limited. Overweight or obese children have more difficulty sleeping, playing and even breathing, and the effects can linger into adulthood. FULL STORY
